Goodbye Summer- Drab to Fab

The end of summer always comes with mixed feelings. And having two of my own kids only adds to this indecisiveness. Some mornings are magical and slow moving. Other days, one kid is screaming at each other for looking at them too long. I know when I meet with parents during conferences, many are surprised how well behaved their children are at school when they can be terrors at home- well I am here to tell you teacher kids act the same way. There is some study out there that says kids act (legitimately) 800% worse for their moms than anyone else, google that.

Now don’t get me wrong, we made some wonderful memories this summer. We traveled to Destin with my family, stayed in a beautiful air bnb in Covington for the 4th of July, swam, did the zoo, museum and other day trips. I am SO thankful for the extra time I get with them each year.

But now with less than a week before I officially start back up… it’s time to get moving on my classroom. Today the kids “helped” me paint one of my classroom walls that was looking a little drab. And I am so excited with how it is turning out! I will stop by later this week to finish it up.

Hope you follow along while I get my class rolling for the 2023/2024 school year!
